DISC
DiSC measures your personality and behavioral style. It does not measure intelligence, aptitude, mental health, or values. DiSC profiles describe human behavior in various situations—for example, how you respond to challenges, how you influence others, what is your preferred pace, and how you respond to rules and procedures.
The DISC model discusses four reference points
1. Dominance
direct, strong-willed, and forceful
3. Steadiness
gentle, accommodating, and soft-hearted
2. Influence
sociable, talkative, and lively
4. Conscientiousness
private, analytical, and logical
What is it used for?
DISC profiles look at how you respond to certain situations, how to influence others and how you respond to coworkers. Employers use DISC to assess : teams, communication and potential candidates as well as leaders as part of development and individual coaching programs.
Benefits
The DiSC assessment gives you a better idea of how you deal with conflict, what motivates and causes you stress, how you communicate, and how you solve problems.
It can promote awareness of leaders’ strengths and weaknesses. As a leader of influence, self-awareness can help leaders better understand what they bring to the table and how it can be beneficial in different situations
